PSYCHOACOUSTIC
– ABOUT THE WORK
Built with support from The Cognitive Neuroscience Research Unit at City University, London; this work explores and tests the empathetic nature of human beings in a context of theatre. We know that theatre is an evocative tool, it can make us laugh, cry, feel adoration and even fear; the research behind this work delves into the raw ingredients needed to elicit particular states of being, using movement and sound as the key driving forces. An ongoing line of academic research continues to exist behind this work, now drawing together doctors and professors from CNRU City University and Cardiff University’s Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC) where we seek to champion a collaboration between creative and academic conversation. Psychoacoustic featured as a part of the TEST | CAPTURE Tour in 2018 and 2019.
