AISHA NAAMANI //

Aisha was a National Dance Company Wales Associate before training at London Contemporary Dance School. Upon graduating, she returned to Wales to join NDCWales as an apprentice in 2018 and later as a full-time company dancer in 2019. Since then, Aisha has toured extensively across the UK and internationally as well as curating her own projects exploring dual heritage and mixed ethnicity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, as a part of the Plethu Project she created a short dance and poetry film, ‘Ble Mae Bilaadi?’ with National Poet of Wales Hanan Issa, which was selected to represent art in Wales for the Senedd’s 10th Anniversary as well as studied in South Wales comprehensive schools in 2021. As a dancer, Aisha has worked with a variety of choreographers such as Andrea Costanzo Martini, Marcos Marou, Fernando Melo, Caroline Finn, Alexandra Waierstall, Fearghus O’Conchuir, Matthew Robinson and more, as well as performing in a range of venues from community centres in rural Wales to the Stade de France in Paris. She is also a qualified Yoga teacher, and currently studying Advanced Mat Pilates.
