Gaia is an eclectic artist from Torino, Italy, currently based in Cardiff, Wales. She works as a performer, movement director, facilitator and maker.
Her experience encompasses collaborations with artists from diverse backgrounds and projects in very different settings, including site specific and traditional theatre, gallery spaces, outdoors and immersive theatre, dance, opera, film, photography and fine art. Her background is in ballet and contemporary dance and fine art and art history. She has a BA in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban and has completed a two-year acting training at The Questors Academy in London. Further professional development includes courses with Frantic Assembly, Peeping Tom and Theatre Re, as well as BADC certifications (unarmed, rapier and sword and shield).
Gaia regularly works a freelance practitioner for National Dance Company Wales and Kitsch’n’Sync Collective.
Some other recent engagements include projects with Welsh National Opera, Ballet Cymru, Karol Cysewski, Rubicon Dance Company, Alex Marshall Parsons and Natalie Sloth Richter. She is also developing her own project, Miss B., supported by Articulture through the 4 Nations Bursary.
Gaia is excited to continue her collaboration with Jack Philp Dance collective, which she has been part of since 2015.
